Holidays are here! And, since I am an enormous proponent of anything celebratory, especially around Christmas and New Year’s Eve, the next few blog posts will be holiday-centric. For ease, I am categorizing the holiday event schedules by state. Enjoy!
New York Holiday Events
On December 29, the New Year's Masters Ski Jump competition takes place in Whiteface. Then, on December 30, Dorothy Hamill returns for the Stars on Ice extravaganza. Additionally, a host of holiday events happen in the base village: Lake Placid.
With a name like "Holiday Valley", one can only assume that they celebrate the December season with a-gusto! Christmas Camp starts on December 27 and the New Year's Eve celebration is not to be missed: ski until 10pm, watch a most spectacular snowcat parade, then join in the torchlight parade, and, finally, enjoy a grand fireworks show that ends at midnight. Maine Holiday Events
At Sugarloaf, Bullwinkle's is hosting a Christmas Eve 4-course dinner buffet. And, Christmas week has a full schedule of events: anti-gravity, zip-lining, tubing, and holiday concerts. Finally, cap-off the holiday week with a Family New Year's Eve Celebration and fireworks display.
New Hampshire Holiday Events
Through December 22, enjoy Children's Tea with Mrs. Clause: you may bring the little ones in your life to enjoy special holiday music, a child-friendly tea menu and holiday stories with Mrs. Claus.
From December 22 - 24, you may celebrate this Christmas with a Family Winter Holiday where you will find merriment at Omni Mount Washington Resort’s winter wonderland: festive celebration of sleigh rides, snowshoeing, skiing, stories with Santa, and holiday refreshments. Snuggle in front of the fire with eggnog or cider before being tucked in by one of Santa’s elves. When the sun sets, participate in the entertaining evening family games or relax in front of the fireplace.
Bretton Woods also offers many other events through the Christmas week. These fun activities include Breakfast with Santa, "A Very Merry-onette Christmas" with shows of "Hansel and Gretel" and "Pinocchio", Moonlight Ski and Snowshoe Tour, New Year's Eve Celebration, and much more December family fun!
West Virginia Holiday Events
The Holiday Celebration at Snowshoe starts on December 22. The Big Top transforms into Santa's Workshop, filled with family activities and holiday cheer. Keep your eyes open for Santa on the slopes and maybe take a run with him and Mrs. Claus. And, the New Year's Eve spirit is captured by Family Fun at the Big Top and a village-wide watching of the NYC Ball Drop.
