Holidays are here! And, since I am an enormous proponent of anything celebratory, especially around Christmas and New Year’s Eve, the next few blog posts will be holiday-centric. For ease, I am categorizing the holiday event schedules by state. Enjoy!
New Mexico Holiday Events
Christmas in Taos is definitely a multicultural event. Not only are the Christian and Jewish holidays of Christmas and Hanukkah celebrated, but there are also the Native American, Hispanic, and Winter Solstice traditions that make this time of year so special. Some events include: Baroque Holiday Concerts, Lighting of Ledoux Street, and Festival of Wreaths and Trees. An entire list of events is for your perusal.
So, the festivities are many around Taos, as well as at Taos Ski Valley. On Christmas Eve, a torchlight parade lights-up the slopes of Taos Ski Vally. And, on New Year’s Eve, there is a New Year’s celebration with another torchlight parade and fireworks display. Through December, holiday tubing on the hill has extended hours for celebrating.
