The holidays are here! And, since I am an enormous proponent of anything celebratory, especially around Christmas and New Year’s Eve, the next few blog posts will be holiday-centric. For ease, I am categorizing the Holiday event schedules by state. Enjoy!
Vail has a plethora of holiday events! From family holiday movie nights (including Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Charlie Brown Christmas) to holiday concerts and carolers roaming with hot cocoa. There is even "Skate with the Stars" on Thursday, December 20 to Sunday, December 23.
Beaver Creek, just miles away from Vail, also has a number of activities to choose from around the holidays. Winterfest starts on Saturday, December 22 and continues through December 24 with Winter Characters visiting Beaver Creek Plaza, a Kids' Winter Wonder Parade, Family FunFest Carnival, Figure Skating Show and Disco Skate Night.

On December 15, Bud Light presents River Run Rocks Concert Series, a free traditional après live-music scene. On December 22, the very talented snow artists from Laughing Hands Studio will carve a snow sculpture, where in a new one will be carved each month of the winter. But, the event that most caught me is titled “Chocolate Village”, which features delicious homemade chocolate creations from Keystone Resort’s Pastry Chef Ned Archibald. This handcrafted holiday tradition features 2,500 pounds of chocolate crafted into a miniature alpine village, a working chocolate gondola, a cascading chocolate waterfall, 6 foot tall white chocolate Christmas tree with chocolate presents. The Chocolate Village premieres on December 18! Even more holiday events will take place around Keystone!
For those around Copper Mountain, Breckenridge and Keystone please come to the Ski Town Soups book signing and soup tasting event at The Next Page in Frisco, Colorado on Friday, December 7 at 7pm.
December holidays are celebrated with "12 Days of Aspen". During the 12 Days of Aspen (December 20-31), downtown Aspen becomes a winter wonderland: free ice skating, visits with Santa's reindeer, s'more making parties, cookies, cocoa, holiday drink specials, and more delight all of Aspen. The grande finale, on December 31, is where Aspen Mountain rings in 2013 with a New Year's Eve fireworks extravaganza.
