Because of the local-mindedness of chefs in ski towns, farmer's markets are incredibly important and prevalent in the summertime! Through the Ski Town Soups cookbook, fresh, locally sourced and organic ingredients that are in-season is a continuous theme. Recently, I came across an article in SKI magazine by Colette Maddock featuring 7 Mountain Farmers’ Markets to visit during your trip to different mountain communities.
The 7 featured farmers markets, showcasing their unique foods and crafts, were Crested Butte, Vail, Bellingham, Washington (near Mt. Baker), Cache Valley in Logan, UT (near Powder Mountain and Wolf Mountain), Hood River in Columbia Gorge, OR (near Mt. Hood), Big Sky and Stowe. Enjoy the links to the farmer's markets, and have some fun road-tripping adventures this summer!
